Devawn, a highly accomplished makeup artist, is the Founder and CEO of The Multimedia Makeup Academy. She is recognized by several beauty institutes and has been awarded a variety of certificates for her accomplishments in the beauty industry. Her rigorous academic approach to makeup education comes from her years of instruction at local universities, beauty schools, and salons. Devawn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and completed Master Courses in Leadership. She holds an Esthetics License and Esthetics Instructor’s License. She is also a former salon owner, freelance makeup artist, and airbrush makeup distributor and educator.
Brandi, admissions director and artist instructor, has two driving passions: to take makeup education to new levels of excellence, and to inspire students daily to find their creative genius. Her mantra – people before things – has molded her into both an excellent educator and compassionate leader. Brandi earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wayne State University. She holds an Esthetics License, certifications from several celebrity makeup artist classes, and has worked at the cutting edge of bridal artistry, fashion print work, and pageantry beauty.
Christina, MMA curriculum developer and artist instructor, transformed a life-long fascination for mixing color and creating characters into a successful career as an outstanding beauty and special effects artist. Her unbridled enthusiasm and hands-on teaching skills prepares MMA students for careers in film and stage effects. Christina’s background includes serving as lead makeup artist in independent film and major motion picture work, and as an industry innovator in Special FX appliance development.
Jen serves as both an artist instructor and the driving force behind MMA’s Student Leadership Program. Jen is known for her positive rapport with students, her keen eye for detail, and innate ability to see and create artful expressions through makeup.
Amy’s passion for makeup and keen eye for detail make her the ideal artist instructor to educate students that are brand new to the academy. Driven by competition and constructive criticism, she instructs students in the same way: critique every minute detail so aspiring artists can strive to be the best, instead of settling for adequate. She firmly believes no matter how much you think you know about makeup, there is still so much more to learn.
